Sewing Space Envy

Has anyone else been following the Studio Spotlight Series by Ellison Lane ?
They have posted Five Days of beautiful Sewing Spaces completed with a chance to enter for a giveaway.
My favorite space is Simple Simon and Co from Day 5. Which is yours?

Here is my Sewing Space.
I have an Ikea table that I purchased for my machine, along with a series of odd containers to hold various notions.  I do most of my cutting on my dining room table which is not ideal but works for now.

A china cabinet  that was purchased for my last house but doesn't fit well into this house. I use it to store my stash and the drawer for threads, and notions.

On the other side is an assortment of Ikea storage boxes for patterns

I have plans to slowly transform my space as we finish our basement. Until then I will just keep my Pintrest board of sewing rooms. I am lucky to have a dedicated space in my basement but would LOVE to have to a little lighter and prettier.
Anyone else have sewing space envy?

  1. Love all of your colorful thread organized in a rainbow! Thanks for linking up. :)

  2. You have a great sewing machine (love Pfaff), a space that you don't have to put away and method of storage too! I sew in a basement - and sometimes have natural lite envy, but with my life & kids I end up sewing when it's dark outside anyway :)

    1. I love my machine and I am lucky to have the space.

  3. Thank you for sharing your sewing space on our Studio Spotlight Tour.
Your thread looks so yummy broken out by color.

  4. So neat and organized. Please come here and help me with mine! I have a small extra bedroom with a path to the sewing machine. Bins all over the floor, full shelves, etc. I need to open a fabric store!!! Yet, in this crowded mess I accomplish a lot. Think what I could do if it were organized!

  5. It's great to have a dedicated space. Someday you will have more of what you want in a sewing space.

  6. I have been in a basement before....I remember not ever wanting to get much done. I think I only finished one quilt at that time.

  7. Most of us started on the table. lol I sometimes think it's one of ways into this crazy club! I sewed on the table for about 15 years--a long time!
    Thanks for inviting us in!
